The E-3 classification applies to Australian nationals coming to the US to work in a specialty occupation which requires a bachelor's or higher degree in a specific field. E-3 status is employer and position specific. E-3 is a nonimmigrant status without dual intent; therefore, ISSS recommends that the employee change to H-1B Specialty Occupation status prior to beginning an application for US Permanent Residence.
