TN APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Department extends offer to foreign national
  • Department contacts ISSS to determine the appropriateness of TN status
  • Department and applicant work together to complete the TN application in Destiny One
  • ISSS issues and signs the TN Support Letter
  • ISSS uses the Departmental UPS account # to send original TN Support Letter to the Canadian or Mexican national
  • Applicant applies for TN status directly at the Canadian/Mexican  border (Mexican TN will need a visa first from the US Embassy) and enters the United States in TN status

After Employee Enters the US in TN Status:

Initial and Transfer TN Employees are required to attend a TN Orientation in ISSS prior to commencement of employment. The TN Orientation will cover immigration regulations as well as applying for a Social Security Number and a Pennsylvania Driver's License/State ID.
